After the loss of her son, Stephen, to MSA, Carol Shaffer Smith felt a great need to share information on managing the evolving daily challenges of living with a progressive neurodegenerative disorder. Sparse information is available to help those suffering from parkinsonian disorders such as multiple system atrophy, Lewy body dementia, corticobasal degeneration, and progressive supranuclear palsy. It is her hope to bring together patients and families to shed more light on ways to help those suffering from these disorders, enabling them to have the best quality of life possible.
