The University of Alberta CurePSP Center of Care is a multidisciplinary team that includes neurologists, palliative care physicians, a spiritual psychologist, a nurse, a neuropsychiatrist, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, a speech and language therapist, and a psychologist. Our Complex Neurologic Symptoms (CNS) Clinic, founded by Dr. Miyasaki, a noted international leader in neuropalliative care, is the first neuropalliative clinic in Canada.

The CNS Clinic provides symptom management for advanced neurologic disorders, including Parkinson's disease, multiple system atrophy, progressive supranuclear palsy, and others. We offer comprehensive diagnostic testing, clinical care, and support services for patients and families. Our site also has a robust research program that regularly participates in observational studies and clinical trials, and has published numerous articles and guidelines on neuropalliative care for advanced PD, MSA, and PSP.

Our care philosophy emphasizes empowering patients and families to play an active role in their treatment through education. We believe that an interdisciplinary approach is most effective in maintaining quality of life.
