Regional Support

Making a connection with a peer supporter or a support group can offer companionship, comfort, and insight through a very difficult journey, and are greatly beneficial for patients, carepartners, and family members. Having a safe space to talk through your fears, hopes, and complex emotions with people who have been where you are can help alleviate the stress and confusion of isolation often felt by those suffering. Many deep and lasting connections and friendships are made through support groups, so please consider attending one if you are living with, or caring for someone with PSP, CBD, or MSA.

Support Groups

CurePSP’s staff and volunteer network has been working diligently since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to make sure that, now more than ever, we are able to continue supporting our community with increased support resources. With all in-person support groups being cancelled nationwide and people feeling more isolated than ever in these unprecedented circumstances, we are developing new ways for people to remain engaged and maintain connection, despite physical distance.

Many of our support groups that were previously meeting in-person have transitioned to a virtual platform and continue to meet monthly, while others will resume meeting in-person when it is safe to do so and in the meantime, remain connected via email. For more information on how to get involved with a local support group, please contact the facilitator.

Peer Supporters

If a group setting is not for you, or you are new to this journey and looking for a one-on-one conversation to help you understand, you can reach out to one of our peer supporters. These volunteers have made themselves available to talk with patients, caregivers, friends, and family of those suffering from PSP, CBD, MSA, and related neurodegenerative diseases. Please feel free to reach out to one of these amazing supporters to open a line of communication, receive advice, and find comfort from someone who understands.
