Meet Lundbeck: A Spring Community Weekend Sponsor

When Lundbeck decided to sponsor CurePSP's Spring Community Weekend, the decision came with some history behind it. The two organizations have been in contact since 2014, when Lundbeck came into the orbit of the multiple systems atrophy (MSA) and CurePSP communities, and those relationships never faded.

Lundbeck is a global biopharmaceutical company with a singular focus: the brain. For more than 70 years, they have dedicated themselves exclusively to researching, developing and commercializing treatments for neurological and psychiatric diseases. While the company has worked in several disease spaces, in recent years Lundbeck has been deliberately turning its attention back to focused innovation in rare neurological diseases, and currently has an active clinical development program in MSA.

Over the years, Lundbeck has worked with CurePSP to raise awareness of clinical trials, share milestone announcements and listen. The company has engaged people with lived MSA experience in roundtables and focus groups, treating their perspectives as a core input into strategic decisions.

“Lundbeck has always been an organization that believes strongly in making sure that the patient voice and the patient perspective is heard,” said Charise Dunn, Associate Director of Advocacy at Lundbeck. “We rely heavily on insights from individuals with lived experience and care partners to help inform our path forward.”

At this year's Spring Community Weekend, Lundbeck's presence reflects a company at an inflection point — one actively investing in the science of rare diseases — choosing to participate in an event for the very community their research is meant to serve. For CurePSP families navigating PSP, CBD and MSA, that kind of commitment is worth knowing about.
